THE LETTER “R”
Resilience is needed more than ever before. Random destruction and negligence, ravenous corporations and refusing to change, contributes to one natural disaster after another. The rapid divulgation of information, via social media today, allows for daily feed of: rotting flesh, rapid decline in wildlife, raging fires, rising seas, ragged and run down shorelines and pollutants repeatedly discarded in our waterways and landfills. Persistent disregard for recycling practices or refusal to change what is already within our power is of course a major source of concern, because make no mistake about it, many are still refuting global warming, albeit the disastrous proof surrounding us. It is absolutely essential that the delicate balance between man and the planet he occupies be restored. Regrettably this will not be possible if everyone is not on board. Refuting its existence will not make it go away. Nor will repeated mistakes. And the longer we wait the more it becomes a race against time. There will be no respite if we don’t re-imagine food chains, consider true supply and demand, embrace renewable energy, reduce carbon emissions and redistribute moneys, to name but a few. Let’s recognize, reorganize and reconstruct. Let’s relinquish the bad habits of the past, responsibly accept our errors and respectfully retaliate against future wrongdoing. We need a reverse revolution of good. We have received our wake up call. It is time for a universal call to action that must be heard by all.
If you think you are too small to make a difference, try sleeping with a mosquito. Dalai Lama
