Let Venice sink
She will become
more glorious than Atlantis
Our bittersweet longing for her
will transform into insatiable craving
unrequited love
And unlike the flesh clad unfortunates
she will become more beautiful
more intriguing
more romantic
more stupendous in her decay
Her marvels and splendors
will forever be mourned
and imagined through time
Let Venice sink
Exalt her prestige
Venerate her mystery
Feel her eternal melancholy
Praise and adore her
more than when she was
And so too
will I do
with you
Now that you
are no more
